Fyndle is a user engagement tool that allows you to set up a treasure hunt in your own website or online store. Learn more by watching this video:
During the treasure hunt, visitors to your site can search for a logo (fully customisable by you) by browsing through the pages of your website or online store; Fyndle makes sure every player will find a logo after searching around for a while.
Once a player finds the logo, they can enter the prize draw by registering their e-mail address. (Note: this information is stored securely and is ONLY used to prevent players from cheating the game).
When the treasure hunt ends, a winner is chosen. You can create a game of skill, where everyone who found a logo answers a question and you select a winner from the answers. You can also create a game of chance, where a winnder is drawn at random from every entrant who found a logo. Winners are notified via email and asked to provide their contact details. The chosen winner(s) details are then sent to you by Fyndle so delivery of the prize(s) can be arranged.
Anyone in the world who is online can apply with a few exceptions… for example you may have an age or location limitation (for example: over 18 years old or based in Australia only). Once they visit your website or online store they will be validated to ensure they are eligible to enter into the treasure hunt competition.
Signing up with Fyndle could not be easier. By following these simple steps, you’ll have your account up, running and ready to go in a matter of minutes.
You can choose between a game of skill and a game of chance.
In a game of skill, you specify a qualifying question we=hen creating the treasure hunt. Treasure hunt players who find the hidden image are all asked to answer this qualifying question. After the treasure hunt ends, you review the answers and select the player(s) with the best answers as winner(s).
In a game of chance, a winner or winners are randomly selected from all players who found the hidden image. Please note that when selecting a game of change, it is your responsibility to comply with your local gaming laws. Only select a game of chance if you are sure that your game complies with local laws and that you have the appropriate gaming license, if applicable.
Fyndle will notify you of the validated winner along with their details, so you can award them their prize or discount.
This depends on your pricing package. Check the pricing page for more information.
Fyndle is proven to increase engagement, as visitors spend more time-on-site and view more pages. Fyndle boosts return visits and conversions as customers get more familiar with your content/products and have been shown to purchase products while searching for the logo.
Yes, you can upload a custom image that will be hidden on your website
No! In a Fyndle treasure hunt, the image is hidden in a different place for each player. As a result, players can’t help other players by telling them exactly where the image is hidden. Everyone has to do some searching before finding the logo.
Fyndle makes sure that a player spends some time searching for the hidden image, but not too much. In other words, if a player has not found the logo after searching for a while, it will appear on one of the next players. This way your players are challenged, but not discouraged, even if your website has lots of pages!
You can tell visitors about this in two ways.
The first is to place a banner or other image on your website to tell people about the treasure hunt. If you give the banner a ‘fyndle-start’ CSS class, once your treasure hunt is activated, the treasure hunt opt-in popup appears. If players decide to play (they can also opt out if they prefer), they can start searching for the hidden image after a brief instruction on how it works.
The second option is to use a popup notifying visitors that there is a treasure hunt and they can win prizes. This is what the popup looks like:
Since not everyone wants popups on their website, the popup notification is optional. If you choose it, you can also indicate after how many seconds the popup will appear on your website.
This depends on the technology used on your website. I most cases, when adding a banner image to your website, your image settings will have a ‘class’ field. In this field, enter ‘fyndle-start’ (without the quotes).
Fyndle takes care of the opt-in and registration process. When players click on your treasure hunt banner or see the treasure hunt popup (the popup is an optional setting you can turn on or off), they can choose whether they play the treasure hunt game or opt out. If players opt out, they are not tracked and will not be able to find the hidden image. If players opt-in, they are shown a brief instruction on how it works:
After clcking on ‘Yes, let’s start!’, they can start playing.
